Curriculum, Skills, and Projects<\/h1>\n

Nowadays, it's not what you know that matters, but what you can do.<\/h1>\n

Durch den technischen Wandel, der in den 90ern zustande kam, ist es heutzutage sehr leicht, jede Art von Wissen im Internet zu finden. Dadurch ist das Auswendiglernen von Fakten veraltet geworden. Dabei sind Verantwortungsbewusstsein, Selbstst\u00e4ndigkeit und das K\u00f6nnen von alltagsrelevanten F\u00e4higkeiten in den Vordergrund getreten. Da THS die bestm\u00f6gliche Zukunft der Schulabg\u00e4nger gew\u00e4hrleisten m\u00f6chte, begleitet THS.Homeschooling Sch\u00fclerinnen und Sch\u00fcler auf dieser Lern-Bergtour \u2013 und trainiert genau diese F\u00e4higkeiten.Das geschieht auf 3 Ebenen: Der Lehrinhalt, die F\u00e4higkeiten und die Projekte. Die \u201eMa\u00dfeinheit\u201c des Curriculums sind die F\u00e4higkeiten. Das sind jeweils mehrere Lehrinhalte, die wir zu einer F\u00e4higkeit zusammen geb\u00fcndelt haben. So lernen die Sch\u00fcler nicht nur theoretisch, sondern verstehen den Kontext und die Anwendung ihres Wissens \u2013 der Blick aufs Panorama wird klarer.<\/p>\n

1. Curriculum<\/strong><\/h2>\n

What is that?<\/h4>\n

A learning content is a concrete piece of information or a clearly defined subject matter that a student learns.<\/p>\n

    A skill connects multiple learning contents into a practical context. It makes knowledge applicable in everyday life.<\/p>\n

    Laundry<\/h4>\n

    Here, knowledge from various teaching materials is used \u2013 with the goal of: clean clothes in everyday life.<\/p>\n

    So, a skill is something that is applicable in real life.<\/p>\n

    3. Project<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    What is that?<\/h4>\n

    A project bundles multiple skills into a more contextually relevant, real-world application.<\/p>\n

    The students plan and operate their own laundromat for a week. In addition, they learn:<\/p>\n

      Faith as an Integral Part of Education<\/h1>\n

      Knowledge without character makes one arrogant. Thus, THS's mission is to influence the character of its students so that they can be \u201esalt and light\u201c in society according to God's command. Even though a large part of this educational work falls to the parents, THS has set its own standards. To achieve this, we guide students through 3 stages during their school education. Students thus have a protected space, but do not grow up in a \u201epious bubble.\u201c.<\/p>\n

      Parental Integration<\/h1>\n

      Eltern bleiben die wichtigsten Seilpartner ihrer Kinder auf der Lernroute. Ihnen f\u00e4llt die Begleitung ihrer Kinder bei der Durchf\u00fchrung der Projekte und der Hausaufgaben zu. Dazu hat THS f\u00fcr die Eltern ein spezielles Dashboard \u2013 einen Portalzugang \u2013 entwickelt, auf dem Eltern die anfallenden Arbeiten f\u00fcr ihre Kinder sehen k\u00f6nnen, wie auch die erreichten Noten der vergangenen Aufgaben. Eltern sehen auch, was ihre Kinder lernen, indem sie Zugang zu den Unterrichtsmaterialien haben. Regelm\u00e4\u00dfige Treffen in Form digitaler \u201eElternabende\u201c werden von THS angeboten, um Fragen zu kl\u00e4ren und Eltern in die jeweils n\u00e4chsten Lernschritte ihrer Kinder einzuf\u00fchren. Elterngruppen helfen ihnen, untereinander Kontakt zu halten.<\/p>\n

      Subject system & levels<\/h1>\n

      Der Lehrplan von THS.Homeschool richtet sich nicht nach festen Schulb\u00fcchern, sondern nach den F\u00e4higkeiten, die junge Menschen f\u00fcr ein selbstst\u00e4ndiges Leben brauchen. Diese F\u00e4higkeiten wurden aus realen Anforderungen des Alltags, der Arbeitswelt und des Glaubenslebens abgeleitet \u2013 \u00fcber 1.400 an der Zahl.Unsere Stundenverteilung orientiert sich deshalb nicht prim\u00e4r an klassischen F\u00e4chern, sondern an Kompetenzbereichen.<\/p>\n

      For us, the focus isn't on the curriculum, but on what children truly need to learn and be able to do\u2014skill by skill.<\/p>\n

      Im Fach Geografie der 5. Klasse erwerben die Sch\u00fclerinnen und Sch\u00fcler beispielsweise sechs grundlegende F\u00e4higkeiten:Sie lernen, die Kontinente zu benennen, Karten zu lesen, die Entstehung der Erde zu verstehen, verschiedene Regionen der Welt kennenzulernen und \u00f6kologische Zusammenh\u00e4nge zu begreifen. Jede dieser F\u00e4higkeiten wird in mehreren sorgf\u00e4ltig geplanten Unterrichtseinheiten aufgebaut.<\/p>\n

                          The performance standard is checked through written class exams, submitted projects, regular homework assignments, or even through brief oral quizzes during class.<\/p>\n

                          Credits<\/strong><\/h4>\n

                          THS works with credit points. One credit point corresponds to 30 learning hours. These can be earned both in class and through independent work.<\/p>\n

                          Per academic year, we aim for 30 credit points for our students.<\/p>\n

                          Stay seated<\/strong><\/h4>\n

                          If a student is falling behind in a subject, they will either repeat that specific subject or be provided with additional materials to catch up in the following year. There is no traditional grade repetition; instead, parents and the school set the standards for each school subject. This means a child in the 7th grade could be at an 8th-grade level in German, but only at a 6th-grade level in math.<\/p>\n

                          Completion<\/strong><\/h4>\n

                          THS Homeschooling does not currently offer an accredited degree. However, graduates receive a provider certificate that graduates can use to apply to other schools\/universities. Therefore, it cooperates with other providers and ensures the transferability of its graduates.<\/p>\n

                          This means that parents, students, and THS jointly discuss the student's future prospects. If a child wishes to remain in the country where they currently reside, THS assists with communication with the relevant authorities.<\/p>\n

                          Example USA: The US High School diploma can be obtained by international students through the GED test. This requires the necessary English skills. THS helps with preparation for this diploma.<\/p>\n

                          In the medium term, THS aims to establish its own accredited degree program.<\/p>\n
