Matthew 13 - NGÜ
»Listen!« he began. »A farmer went into the field to sow.".
4 Some of it fell on the path when the seed was scattered. Birds came and pecked it up.
Some fell on rocky ground, where there was not much soil, and it sprang up quickly, because it had no depth of soil.
6 But when the sun rose higher, the young plants were scorched, and because they had no deep roots, they withered away.
Some fell into thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked the seed.
8 But some fell on good soil and yielded a harvest, multiplying many times over: some thirty, some sixty, and some a hundred times what was sown.
9 Whoever has ears, let them hear!«
The seeds in the parable are the words and teachings that are to be conveyed to the students. There are four different places where the seeds can fall. Only on one field does fruit truly grow. The other soils describe states of the human heart that make it difficult for the seed to bear fruit.
In the parable, birds come on the first ground and peck up the seeds because the hardened earth cannot and will not absorb the grains. In school, this is pride, which prevents students from being teachable. The words find no hold.
On the second floor, there are rocks in the earth. For students, this is laziness, which should be replaced by diligence.
On the third floor are thorns. These are the doubts students may have that prevent them from acting. These should be replaced by courage.
The last soil is fertile because it hears the seed, understands it, and also acts upon it. This happens through faith.
Thus, if the children are teachable, diligent, and courageous, they will hear, understand, and do the seed.

Values
The four core values of THS Homeschooling are based on the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13.
The grains in the parable represent the knowledge and truth that are imparted to the students. However, only where the soil—the heart—is prepared can this seed sprout and bear fruit.
Mut
Courage means recognizing dangers, assessing them, and then acting appropriately.
Trainability
Teachability is the willingness to learn. It is the foundation for wisdom and character development.
Diligence
Diligence is a learnable discipline. Perseverance forms the foundation for lasting success in life.
Faith
Faith means trusting God – and at the same time believing in your own abilities, given by Him, to master life's journey.
Vision
We renew our generations with courage, faith, and wisdom.
